Kosovo saw unified vehicle license plates, 10 years after declaring independence

Even ten years after the declaration of independence, Kosovo has not unified vehicle plates. Locally, except for “license plates RKS” KS”, used before declaring independence. In the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there are thousands of cars with license plates “KS” and that if a decision is not made differently, [...]
Mentor Wessel, from Ferizaj, from 2011, for four years, directed his car by reroute “RKS”, license plates that symbolize the “Republic of Kosovo”.
But the troubles caused on the border with Serbia cause him back to his car to place a “license plate. KS”, which represents the neutral status of Kosovo and which are acceptable to Serbia.
I've had it before The RKS, but I've been gone for three years. I put the KS in. I want to travel from Kosovo through Serbia to other countries to do work, but I have to remove the plates. Yeah, it's a tough job. Take off your license plates. I even put the plates on the KS”, he said.
Tabs “RKS” since their release in 2010, are not accepted by Serbia, even though the two states have agreed in Brussels to allow free movement of vehicles with license plates of two states. Kosovars who go to Serbia, or this state exploit it as transit, are obliged to cover subx2> plates RKS” or equipped with license plates “tested”.
And that, it has led many Kosovars to remove Republika plates and refuel with “license plates KS”
Interior Ministry spokeswoman Roxana Charles tells Radio Kosovo what the number of cars that have license plates “KS” and when they can be removed from use.
“Num of registered vehicles with license plates “KS” is 27 thousand 386. This year, the number of registered vehicles with license plates “KS” is 4 thousand 179. These plates were extended last year for five years, and until another decision, there will be no change”, the Charles said.
While the Ministry of Internal Affairs spokeswoman showed that plates “KS” can be used for another four years if no other decision is made, Mentor Veselin and other Kosovars demand that Kosovo act with Serbian citizens, as Serbia does with Kosovars. The idea of setting reciprocity for license plates with Serbia has been rumoured several times after Kosovo imposed a 100% tax on Serbian products, but despite that, reciprocity has not yet been imposed.
