He expressed regret over the failure of last meeting in Brussels between Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vuciq, with the mediation of European diplomatic chief Federica Moghrini.
Sholtes hopes the two presidents will continue the ongoing process, and in the coming months they will reach the comprehensive agreement on normalising relations.
” I hope that in the coming months, the comprehensive agreement on normalising relations between Serbia and Kosovo will be successful and in accordance with international law will be reached, and as such will be sustainable for the” region, he said.
According to him, reconciliation between the two countries is possible, but that is only a matter of time.
” This would be very welcome to be achieved as soon as possible, but it is up to Serbia and Kosovo to decide how soon this will become, he said.
