Mattis offers full support for KSF transformation

Prime Minister Haradinaj has informed Secretary Mattis of all developments the country is going through.

At the meeting with top defence department leaders, Prime Minister Haradinaj reiterated that the Kosovo Army will be a competition of peace in the country and the region, multiethnic and ready to serve alongside the US Army on peaceful missions in the world.

Prime Minister Haradinaj announced all of the country's achievements, in particular for the initial process of transforming KSF into the Kosovo Army.

Our young people, from the KSF, have had the fortune to learn from the best professionals in the U.S. Army, through programs that have been offered to us over the years. This experience gained is the best basis we have for transforming the KSF, and Kosovo is ready for this stage”, Prime Minister Haradinaj has said, adding that the country's government is focused on continuing its partnership with the Pentagon and official Washington and has asked Secretary Mattis for its support, in Kosovo's membership in security mechanisms and in NATO.

Prime Minister Haradinaj has informed Defence Secretary Mattis that Kosovo is ready to wrap up the dialogue process with Serbia and complete the country's internal and external consolidation.

On the other hand, Secretary Mattis has expressed higher considerations for the people of Kosovo, her past, and her aspirations to live free as part of the Euro-Atlantic family.

Secretary Mattis has expressed the willingness and dedication of the American Government to assist Kosovo in the process of dialogue, but also in all processes through which Kosovo is going through. In this context, Secretary Mattis confirmed once again strong support for the KSF and the process related to transforming this force into the pre-arranged strategic plan. In that plan Secretary Mattis confirmed that the US would work closely on implementing each stage of this plan.
