Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has met with Italy's Chief of Staff of Armed Forces Salvatore Farina.
Prime Minister Haradinaj announced the Italian Army's Chief of Staff for the progress that Kosovo has made in the statehood processes, for progress in the economy and in empowering order and law, and with particular emphasis, for the willingness of the KSF towards its military transition, as a professional, multiethnic force, and according to NATO standards, and a force that will be listed alongside the armies of peace, in providing peace and security.
Prime Minister Haradinaj thanked General Italy for his contribution during the Kosovo service, as KFOR commander, urging his further support and the Italian state for the Euro-Atlantic process and other important processes for the country.
Kosovo's “People will always be grateful for the support and confidence you have given during your mandate as the leader of the peacekeeping forces in Kosovo and for the continued support the state of Italy has given in all state-building and integration processes of the country”, Prime Minister Haradinaj said during the meeting, stressing that the Government is committed to empowering its political and economic partnership with Italy, providing suitable environment for foreign direct investment.
Italy's Chief of Staff of Armed Forces Salvatore Farina said Italy will be a supporter of Kosovo in all processes.
Prime Minister Haradinaj has honoured General Farina with Skenderbeu's medal, in honour of his contribution, until he has accepted the Italian Army's medal of honour, as a token of thanks for the ever-co-operation.
Part of the meeting were Italian Ambassador to Kosovo Piero Cristoforo Sardi and Security Force Minister Rrustem Berisha.
