Hahn threatens Macedonia: EU's door closes for decades, unless referendum passes

Shortly before his visit to Macedonia next Monday, European Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn stated during an interview that if the possibility of accepting the Agreement with Greece in the name referendum, on September 30th, then Macedonia's EU door would be shut down” for decades”. “Unless this case is used, [...]
If this case isn't used, I'm pretty sure the door will be closed for decades, if not forever”, Hahn said.
The <x0ide is to create something more, if there is a European perspective, this will attract international companies, companies that will create jobs. If there are more industries in the country, it affects small and medium-sized enterprises because they have supply function, all of them simulate the economy. If the economy is internationally oriented, it affects the quality of the rule of law, the independence of the judiciary, and eventually I think it's something people require of”, Hahn stressed.
He also voiced conviction that if Macedonia fulfils the conditions set for the start of negotiations, then they could begin in mid-2019.
