Improving relations between the governments of the two states, economic co-operation, Turkey's application for membership in the European Union, and the fight against terrorism will be the priorities to be discussed during the visit to Germany, the Turkish president told reporters today, Dpa reports.
Erdogan will arrive in Berlin on Thursday at the invitation of his German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier. He is expected to meet twice with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, before attending the opening of a mosque in Kiln.
For months, Turkey and Germany have tried to improve relations, which deteriorated following the arrest of German citizens in Turkey and concerns about human rights violations by Ankara.
