Draskovic: Kosovo more co-operates with Serbia than with Albania, will quickly agree

Serbian writer and politician Vuk Draskovic is convinced that very soon it will come to the reconciliation of Albanians and Serbs, and that Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq is sincerely designated for Serbia's Europeanisation, for Serbia's EU membership and for strategic reconciliation in the region.

I trust Vuciqi, Draskovic says, when he says no hostility can be satisfied with hostility, but with friendship, and he considers that the European definition of Vucinqi is not just post.

Only one thing he says disagrees with, and this is NATO, Draskovic said in an interview given to the Croatian magazine Globus, broadcasts Inseder.com.

Draskovqi has said he had chosen the problem of relations with Kosovo on two steps.

In the first step, it had been fought for the US, the European Union and NATO to be guarantor of Martti Ahtisaari's plan by 2007, which had also been resolved the problem of forming the Association of Serb majority municipalities.

In the second step, he adds, Serbia and Kosovo, as two independent states would have the hands resolved to also agree on the correction of their borders.

“I am convinced that until the reconciliation of Serbs and Albanians will come, even that too quickly”, Draskovic has said.

Warning journalist that based on Serbian media and newspapers it cannot be found, Draskovic says:

Don't read the papers, let's forget the newspapers. Immediately after the sweeping normalisation of relations between Serbia and Kosovo, co-operation between Serbia and Kosovo will be more successful than co-operation between Kosovo and Albania, because the relations of Kosovo and Albania will burden small things.

We live each other, we live together, Kosovo is on the streets and everything that is oriented towards Serbia. Our export (Serbia export v. n.) to Kosovo today is more numerous than exports to Russia and China combined”, Draskovic said.

He claims NATO is the only one he does not agree with Vuciqi.

“Vucciq opposes Serbia's membership in NATO, while I think our membership in the European Community depends on our membership in NATO. Speak and write that for Serbia NATO is the choice of the road, so the goal, while the EU is traveling. If they get on the wrong train, then every station along the way is wrong”, Draskovic said.

“We must choose: either we will be on the table or on the menu. I speak and write that Serbia is from all sides surrounded by states that are in the EU and NATO. And Serbia has no wings to fly to Volga and Siberia”
