Water currents drown 11 climbers, and there are others missing.

At least 11 mountaineers lost their lives in a sudden <x0 flood” while walking south of Italy, while many are considered missing.

They died when streams took them along as they walked through the estuaries in a national park in the region of Calabria.

18 people were rescued, including a 10-year-old boy, while six were taken to the hospital.

Local officials say the exact number of missing persons is unknown.

Carlo Tans, from civil protection, told reporters that people were carried by water up to three kilometers and that they were “actaped as bullets” when they were hit by water currents.
