The MPJ reiterates that the second-time ban by the former head of the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts and members of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Hivzi Islami, to enter the neighbouring state, and to visit his family members, as well as many other almost common cases for both senior officials and ordinary citizens, are in full opposition to the Brussels Agreement, the declaraative commitment of the neighbouring state to the full normalisation of relations between two states and a systematic violation of one of the fundamental rights of the European Union.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on neighbouring state authorities to immediately interrupt such actions and behaviors towards Kosovo citizens, and in parallel with that, EU representatives to stand up for one of the fundamental principles under which the EU itself was established, said the communiques.
The MPJ will give special attention to similar cases in the future, review the positive approach to the requirements for visits by Serbia's authorities to Kosovo, and act on the principle of reciprocity, if cases like this are repeated consistently and are objective.
