Kocijancic: Kosovo, Serbia to be given space to deal with

Three days after American national security adviser John Bolton made it clear publicly that the United States does not object to regulating territories if Pristina and Belgrade find an agreement, he stressed that, in such a case, no one in the EU would be an obstacle. [...]
In the same line comes European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic's statement, which stresses that “in such a case, no one in the EU -- would also become the obstacle”.
Kocijancic came up with the statement that “The EC estimates that Kosovo and Serbia should be given space to agree on the content of the agreement that normalising relations between them. As a mediator of dialogue, the bloc” stressed Kocijancic, -“cannot comment on the possible elements of the agreement, but will continue to work intensively with both sides for reaching a comprehensive and sustainable deal that is supported by the international community”.
She took care to specifically stress that the permanent “solution implies sustainable and real solutions, in line with international law”. While asked by journalists if Brussels acknowledges changing borders, exchanging clean ethnic territories and territories, Kocijancic said he does not want to enter into speculation and detail “into this latest phase of dialogue”.
The European Union's foreign policy chief, Federica Moghrini, announced on Saturday that she will mediate the next meeting between Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Serbia's Aleksandar Vucic, scheduled to be held on 7 September.
