Through a media communique, it becomes known that data from foreign trade in Kosovo points to a higher trade deficit of 18.3% in July 2018, in proportion to the same period in 2017, worth 280.2m euros, compared to the deficit of 236.9m euros in 2017. Export covers import by 9.3%.
“Export of goods in July 2018 was worth 28.7m euros, while import 309.0m euros, where there is a drop (-25.0%) for export and a 12.2% increase for import, compared to the same period of 2017<18x1>, it is said in the communique.
According to key export groups data: 31.3% of exports make up basic metals and articles; 13.7% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 13.5% make up plastics, tires and items of them; 12.5% make up minerals; 8.5% make up plant products; 3.1% make up textiles and articles from them; 2.9% make up machinery, mechanical equipment and electric equipment; 2.8% make up their skins and articles.
While, according to key group data for import: 14.4% make up mineral products; 14.1% make up machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 12.6% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 11.0% make up basic metals and articles from them; 7.4% make up the means of transport; 6.8% make up chemical industry products; 6.3% make up plastics, tires and articles from them; 4.3% make up textiles and its articles.
Kosovo exports to EU countries reached 7.6m euros, or about 26.7% of total exports, with a drop of (-9.9%). Key partners for export of goods to the EU are: Germany (6.2%), Slovenia (4.8%), Holland (4.6%).
Meanwhile, Kosovo imports from EU countries stood at around 126.6m euros, or 41.0% of total imports, with an increase of 6.7%. Imports with higher turnout were from: Germany (11.6%), Italy (7.2%), Greece (2.9%), Poland (2.6), Romania (2.3%) etc.
In July 2018, Kosovo's exports with CEFTA countries reached 16.0m euros, or 55.7% of total exports, with a drop of (-24.2%). Key export partners from CEFTA countries are: Albania (23.7%), Macedonia (12.7%), Serbia (11.1%), Montenegro (5.5%).
While imports from CEFTA countries reached 82.3m euros, or 26.7% of total imports, with an increase of 7.4%. The countries with the highest share in import was: Serbia (12.1%), Albania (7.0%), Macedonia (4.9%) and B&H (2.1%).
Kosovo exports with other countries of the world reached 5.0m euros, or 17.6%. As more important partners from these export countries, it's worth mentioning: Switzerland (8.4%) and India (3.3%).
While Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world reached 100 million euros, or 32.4%. The countries with the highest share in import in this group were: China (10.5%) and Turkey (9.9%).
