Minister of Integration, Gift Hoxha, commenting on the pro-vis visa liberalisation vote for Kosovo by the LIBE Commission, has written that this is also a step towards free movement.
She has written in Facebook that after the commission vote, the process continues at the European Parliament's plenary session, expected to be held in mid-September of this year, then at the Council of Ministers from now on.
Dear citizens,
The LIBE Commission just voted in favour of visa liberalisation for Kosovo. This is both a step toward free movement and a common success toward getting closer to the European family.
Following the vote in the Commission, the process continues at the plenary session of the European Parliament, expected to be held in mid-September of this year, then at the Council of Ministers from now on.
Kosovo has met all the conditions required and we expect the decision-making process to be completed within this year, yet everything is already in the hands of EU institutions.
It is time for Kosovo to be rewarded for the work done with meeting all criteria and our citizens moving freely.
The welfare of our citizens is and should always be our priority. Our citizens deserve free movement.
Congratulations on this shared success!
I assure you we will have transparency and timely information on any development for visa liberalisation.
