Dry weather in Germany, billions of euros in damage

The damage to German agriculture caused by dry and hot weather totals “several billion euros”, said the chairman of Germany's Association of Farmers, Joachim Rukid.

According to him, only cereal cultures have caused damage of 1.4 billion euros.

He asked the government to prepare urgent measures for the assistance of farmers who suffered damage from dry weather.

“Dim is large. Agriculture cannot exceed it, and for that policy it must provide support”, Rukid stressed.
