Maliqi: Kurt's proposal to gasification of lignite is improvised and excused to avoid concrete American demand

Political analyst Agon Maliqi has stated that incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti is using a derailing ability to escape real debates with “allterative peace” and <x2 selective”.
According to Maliqi, the government's recent proposals as Kosovo's involvement in the Vlora terminal or the new idea of gasification of lignite are not part of any national strategies, but constitutes simply political improvisements to reject the concrete US geopolitical project.
The Kurti has an extraordinary ability to divert real debates with alternatives to peace and to devise solutions. This includes not only the proposal for Kosovo's involvement in Vlora, but also the proposal for the gasification of lignite, a proposal which now suddenly appears, never been part of the strategies. So it's an improvisement and a pretext to avoid this kind of American demand and a concrete project that envisions the port of Alexandroupolis in Greece to be the entry point of what it serves to be called the American gas entrance corridor, which will eventually be completed as far as Ukraine, so this way further east. And you expect Kosovo to become part of this corridor through the pipeline then not to give up its existing capacities, nor to give up renewable energy, but only to diversify production in several different sources so that there is no need for the costly imports that are 750 million years”, Maliqi said.
He added that the US request is very concrete and in line with Kosovo's economic and security interests, while Kurti's response shows he is rejecting the strategic project for Kosovo's own security.
Therefore, the demand is very concrete and it is a requirement which is in full accordance with Kosovo's economic and security interests. Kurti's answers and the fact that the US is obliged publicly to make this debate, show that he is opposed to a project that is strategic to Europe's security, for the United States of America, but I would absolutely say for the security of Kosovo”, Maliqi said.
For more, do American gas rejection affect national security and strategic reports with the US?
