Despite warnings that there could be trouble in the north, citizens on this side had gone out to cool off the Lake of Weiman.
The calm situation was also in the northern part of Mitrovica.
Quiet was also in the southern part of Mitrovica. Police spokesman Avni Zahiti confirms this.
And the mayor of South Mitrovica, Agim Bahtiri, is appealing to North Serbs to respect Kosovo's laws, otherwise they will be punished.
Mitrovica's first expressed confidence that with Serbia, no issue will be discussed for exchange of territories or partitions of Kosovo.
Following the warning of Sava priest Janjic that Serbs will declare northern autonomy, the issue also took the attention of Kosovo leaders.
Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj had warned that he would act if the country's security is jeopardised.
Post-war Kosovo faces the northern Kosovo problem. When independence was declared in 2008, border crossings were burned. Meanwhile, in 2011 a Kosovo policeman had been killed, trying to extend sovereignty to this part of Kosovo.
