Becir Nuredini is accused by 16-year-old for sexual abuse

Victims, V.I. (Her name is known for editing), states that two years ago, so at the age of 16, she was violated by Sibovc village hoja, Becir Nuredini, in the mosque where he has been legalizing for decades.

It all happened two years ago. But until July of this year she kept this secret for herself. In July, the V.I. has decided to tell the family about this event. The latter have submitted it to the Podujevo municipality regional police.

Police say they are continuing the investigation and that the state prosecution is currently being taken into the case. Hoxha and her daughter, the girl's family were interviewed by Podujevo police.

“Under our competencies, we have taken all necessary steps towards this case. We've taken all the statements from the parties, and the case with the State Attorney's Order, we've prosecuted it at the Constitutional Prosecutor”, say Podujevo police.

The subject from the regional police directorate has immediately been passed to the Founding Prosecutor, the Pristina branch, which by 12 July has taken the subject for consideration.

Hoxha, Becir Nuredini, has been imam in the village of Sibovc of the Podujevo municipality for more than 25 years. He has denied the girl's family charges in a conversation about Gazette Express. He says BIK in Podujevo is pleased with the work of Imam.

He's one of the very active imams in the task he's carried out in his village where he's been exercising that duty for 25 years. We haven't had a complaint about him since he was an imam. That's why the whole situation is surprising”, says the mayor in Podujevo.

But he hasn't indicated whether BIK will take action against the imam. He says the prosecution's on it.

We have the Islamic Community Council. I pledge that the Islamic Community of Podujevo will act on what is needed, we do not declare the guilty. We are pleased with the work of imam. The complaint about the hoja comes from a family that is not part of his jam. The Hoja charge goes to another village.
