Armed men attacked a convoy of vehicles on which the American envoy traveled to Bangladesh, the capital city of Dacha.
Ambassador Marcia Bernicat, and her security team had been able to leave without getting hurt, but their tools were severely damaged.
All of this happened as thousands of school students and students continued their protest one week with the demand for safer roads. Police have used tear gas to disperse the crowds.
Tens of protesters have also been injured in street-registered attacks. The American ambassador, meanwhile, has condemned the violence against peaceful protesters the day before.
