Agim Bahtiri tries to factor, meets with Thaci at the reactors and talk about security in Mitrovica

I assure the citizens of Mitrovica and the citizens of the country that in my conversation with the president of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaci, and other state leaders, assessed that the situation in the country is calm and stable and that in the north of the Republic of Kosovo, nothing will happen from what different media warn, as Kosovo's respective state institutions are able to protect the country's borders and give the appropriate answer to those who want to destabilise the”, Bahtiri stressed.

The numerous writings in Kosovo's various media regarding the overall situation in the Republic of Kosovo, and especially what it has to do with the situation in the north, have introduced some uncertainty and concern to citizens.

For this reason, Komuna Mayor Agim Bahtiri called on the citizens of Mitrovica and the country to be calm and not to fall under the influence of various dezinforms that launch written and electronic media in the country.

Mayor Bahtiri announced that during today he has met with State Chairman Hashim Thaci and many senior state officials, with whom the army has been talking about preserving peace in the north of the country; continuing efforts to unite the city; preserving the territorial integrity and constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo; and about the situation of Albanians in the Presevo Valley.

Chairman Bahtiri suggested that during the past few days he has met with many other leaders of various institutions, prominent political and security personalities, and that at all these meetings it has been estimated that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo have capacities and are able to maintain the peace and constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo.

Likewise, Chairman Bahtiri reports he has also met with KFOR Commander Salvatore Cuocchi and that he has received assurances that KFOR soldiers are willing to carry out their mission properly and that they have enough capacities to preserve peace and security throughout Kosovo.

“Even in conversation with representatives of security institutions and order in Kosovo, as well as with representatives of other important state institutions, I have received guarantees that all relevant bodies of order and calm are able to face the eventual situation of breaking public order and calm and attempts to destabilise the country, or of violating the constitutional order and territorial integrity of the country. Therefore, my message to you honourable citizens is to be calm and trust the country's legitimate institutions and leadership, that nothing will happen that would endanger, the peace, security and territorial integrity of the country”, says Chairman Bahtiri.
