Minister Hasani in Brussels: Kosovo opens 85 thousand new jobs

Kosovo Industry and Trade Minister Bajram Hasani remained in Brussels on Thursday. There that report before the Regional Council for Co-operation Board (RCC), for the Kosovo Government's achievements in implementing the Strategy for South Eastern Europe goals. Minister Hasani has indicated that in the report presented in the RCC, Kosovo ranks [...]

Minister Hasani has indicated that in the report presented in the RCC, Kosovo is ranked positively different from the other five Western Balkan countries on several pillars.

The three main pillars, where there has been much progress, the minister says they are related to the sustainability of the economic situation, or specifically the growth of GDP and revenues from trade.

We went to Brussels at the RCC's invitation, so Regional Copperation Council. We are invited to participate as members before the board that we are as representatives from Kosovo. We have held the meeting and introduced each country over a period. We as Kosovo introduced it would mean all the achievements that have been made recently, especially the walk and approach of laws with those of the European Union, the fight against corruption, and many... we also presented the chairmanship of Cetfes that we have this year, and many other topics. It is noteworthy that by the date 05.07 [2018] after the presentation of that meeting, the Strategy [for Southeast Europe] report for 2018 has been presented. This fortunately placed report on Kosovo in good standing, where three pillars are for which, according to this report, Kosovo has seen considerable progress. As far as GDP is concerned, where presently 160 percent of GDP, per capita, even though this figure for 2018, if it was returned to percentage was 22 percent [2017] and it is now achieved that it is 30 percent this year. Much progress has been noted in the trade area where the goals of the strategy have been reached, with the likelihood of moving well indicating that some 66 percent of the total trade, exceeding the 3.3 billion euros it was in 2010, is now over 5 billion euros”, the minister said.

He has also said that Kosovo is seen as a country with potential for development, especially because of the new population, somewhere the average is thought to be 27 years. And, according to him, there is also great progress in creating new jobs.

“ ... is always worth emphasising on how the main pillar and the greatest achievement is that according to this report, Kosovo has a huge progress in creating new jobs, which is said to be 85 thousand new jobs that Kosovo has managed to generate during this period, it means where it makes Kosovo very high by analyzing the positive sides as well because of the new population, because the average population is supposed to be 27 years, so it is also released in the future for Kosovo to have progress in employment” Has Hasani said.

Much weaker Kosovo, according to the report presented in the RCC, ranks in terms of government efficiency. This, according to Hasani, is a point at which much still needs to be worked, though, according to him, if the co-ficients are seen from the past there is progress at this point as well.

“ ... if looked at by the cofficients, Kosovo has stayed, if you remember it at 1.9, in 2010, and the goal has been to be at 2.3, and if you take this as a cofficient we're at 2.1, so half the way. We still need it to work, and the government's work was introduced means that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is a major carrier of these parameters, we've been going a lot with legislation with the approach to the laws to the European Union and we're believing that Kosovo has a potential and it's possible that we can move forward to have a more stable economy in the country... Yes, of course, the parameters show that Kosovo is not found in the region, by analyzing all of these points, if you know that you participate in the RCC and the six countries as opposed to these countries, and that Kosovo is obviously showing economic stability in the future of the region, he has said.

The minister has also indicated that at the RCC meeting, which is part of the European Commission, the senior representative of the European Commission, who has generally praised Kosovo for the work that has been done and for the parameters and results that have been marked, but of course, it is always required that more work be done to keep the step in the overall realisation of the targets by 2020.

“port I said I've also released some defects and these defects are not to be disturbed, but it enables us that maybe we can make improvements of course if analyses mean that we're still far away in trade, because now I'm saying it's really a very low percentage of Kosovo's economy that we have a wild import that we need to work hard that our companies mean the more we prepare for a European market with the aim of raising experts, because now I'm saying it's a really a very low percentage, a great trade imbalance between the expert and my port. As for the reforms in [work] inspectors we're doing well, the Ministry of Trade and Industry is the bearer of the Law for Deep Inspectorate Reform, which, according to the concept of the document we've been through in Government, we've made the task force very quickly to prepare the bill for deep reforming the Inspectorate, is worth noting that it has been necessary for reform because there is no co-ordination between the insectorate and the central level even at the municipal level. According to statistics and information we have somewhere, there are 42 local inspectors, including municipal and central ones. This profound reform somewhere reduces them, we're looking at some 15-17 inspectors and we're having an office that's going to do the coordinates. Tomorrow there will no longer be malfunctioning between the municipality and the Government, but I will have regulation and co-operation because it will regulate the Law...”, the minister said, adding further that this model of reforms in inspectors has been followed by Albania and has succeeded.

As for fighting corruption, which remains among the obligations and objectives of Kosovo even in the South East European Strategy and in all integration processes, including visa liberalisation, Hasan during his presentation to Brussels has traded ahead of the RCC board, that in this direction Kosovo has ranked criminal prosecution of corruption cases priority. To that end, Kosovo has also appointed 34 new prosecutors, while, according to the minister, it has handled 456 corruption cases.
