Sami Kurteshi, who led the ombudsman institution, had even possessed a smart phone (Smart phone) and an iPhone. But Kurteshi, even after the mandate ended, has not returned these devices, which belong to the ombudsman institution.
Even Kurteshi has decided to neglect the demands of his former colleagues who, based on law in power, had asked him to return his equipment.
He had not responded by not returning these devices.
This is confirmed by the Public Lawyer's Office.
“After term ends Kurteshi was informed of the payment of the equipment he had been charged with, but not yet returned. The institution in line with previous procedures has commemorated Mr. Kurteshi, in terms of obligations he has for the same”, says the responses of the ombudsman's Office given to callo.com.
MP Kurteshi admitted not to return these equipment. He even said he doesn't intend to return it.
And I've been asking, I've been showing the executive director what I'm thinking of returning because I've been using them for a long time and I have a lot of data. I told you I paid them, let's see the year of use, what they're worth and what they pay for, but because of the data that's there, and I think they're going to leave it in everyone's hands and I have to go check it out now”, Kurteshi said. com
However, it has been nearly three years since Kurteshi has completed his mandate as ombudsman.
The “has never opened that issue”, Kurteshi said when asked why he hasn't paid them so far.
Even though these devices were bought for official needs, Kurteshi says he used it for personal needs, so because of data, I won't.
I told you that I don't return it because of the personal data protection that even if I erase it, all those data can be extracted, because I've also used it for official and personal needs because there are two things that are constantly used”, Kurteshi said.
He says the phone is now out of use, while the iPad claims it is still being used.
Kurteshi served as ombudsman in the Republic of Kosovo from 2009 to 2015.
While in the recent parliamentary elections, Kurteshi was elected Kosovo Parliament deputy from the Vetevendosje Movement ranks.
He had also been the candidate for mayor of the Gjilan municipality in the recent local elections, but in the runoff he failed to get more votes than the current chairman, Lutfi Haziri.
