At the initiative of Health Minister Uran Ismaili, and the support of Switzerland's Ambassador to Kosovo, Jean-Hubert Lebet, decision has been made to extend the available Health Care and Quality Care project (AQH) in all municipalities in the country, the MSH suggests.
The decision was made Wednesday at the meeting the Health Ministry organised with the mayors of the Republic of Kosovo, and where it was discussed on the situation in Health Care.
The project, which will be funded by the Swiss Development and Co-operation Agency (SDC), aims to assess the state of healthcare of Primar Health and will serve as an important basis for investments that will be done both by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and by Donators.
Minister Ismaili said that in health there have often been reports that have not corresponded between government and local government, and that investments have become ad-hoc, because there has been lack of co-ordination and interaction for long-term plans. According to him, this situation has presented the need to seek from the Swiss Development Agency and co-operation the extension of the AQH Project in all municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo.
Kosovoers live at least in Europe, and this led us to realize that we have a very urgent problem that we have to commit to improving. So together, with the help of our partners, we can start a change of situation in our villages and cities”.
Thanks to the Swiss ambassador for supporting his initiative to expand this project, the minister of Health said the project's data would document the real situation and the needs of each municipality for primary health care.
Ambassador Labet said the initiative by Minister Ismaili that this project, which is under way in 12 municipalities, has been extended throughout the Republic of Kosovo, has been very ambitious and is very happy to have found the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation.
According to him, the project is important for Kosovo health and that there are three key points to succeed: political support; financial support and professional support.
Municipal representatives, in turn, welcomed the Ministry of Health's initiative and the assistance of the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation and vowed to make all services available that enable successful implementation of the project that will come up with concrete results for the needs of health care.
