The incident occurred on the beach boulevard “Promenade des Anglais”, just as a show was being performed with fireworks organised by the municipality on Bastija Day.

Heavy images had spread rapidly across social networks. Almost all Nica was armoured by numerous security forces to ensure peace to the local residents. While the hospitals in the southern city had opened the doors for injured persons.
The terrorist killed by police was 31-year-old Mohammed Lahoway Bouhlel, a Sunnisan resident. Before he was killed by police, he had shot several times. Inside his vehicle were documents of identity as well as hand grenade and several rifles reported to be false. The author of the incident was a popular name for police for breaking the law, but had never attracted the attention of intelligence services.
On July 14th, France celebrates its independence holiday with a symbolic and unique parade. This year, Bastija Day was also celebrated in Kosovo. Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has taken part in hosting the French Embassy in Kosovo, saying this is a marked day for France and the whole free world.
