European Commission officials have stated that they are still praising whether Kosovo has met the latest criteria for visa liberalisation, respectively, fighting organised crime and corruption.
While connoisseurs of this process say EC recommendation will be positive, but political decision-making will be difficult after scepticism has increased in some important states
The European Commission (KE) is expected by the middle of next week to publish the recommendation for visa liberalisation for Kosovo.
EC officials have told the newspaper “Voice” that the assessment for fighting organised crime and corruption is still ongoing.
While connoisseurs of this process say EC recommendation will be positive, but political decision-making will be difficult as they say scepticism has increased in several important countries such as France, Germany, Holland, Sweden and Austria
They say the decision to abolish visas for Kosovo could strengthen far-right political subjects in the European Parliament.
Therefore, according to integration connoisseurs, the visa-free decision may not be made until after the EP elections, which are held in May of next year.
