Kosovo's economic Oda (OEK) has been attached to rumours opposing allowing the import of old cars in Kosovo.
OEK has indicated that it is conveying with concern some statements and demands by Kosovo Parliament deputies seeking the removal of restrictions on import of cars older than 10 years.
“Paradox is the fact that as long as in Europe and developed countries become <x1-war” and the map of strategies to stop completely moving cars through large centres and particularly preventing diesel cars, in Kosovo there is the opposite where compared to the environmental chaos that reigns, Kosovo is required to become a waste depot, regardless of the fact that damage is caused to citizens, but also the safety in communications where we are witnessing record accidents, even with a fatality, among the reasons why Kosovo deputies are not safe, and the autocarbons are said in the media.
According to them, the release of nitrogen dioxide (NO2), in particular from old oil machines, has become a challenge of global size, and calls from different world organisations to stop it are numerous.
While Kosovo is talking about harmonising laws with the acquis communautaire is surprising such a request by Kosovo MPs and on behalf of the people. Budgetary equipment has been evident in last year's budget of revenues by stopping the import of old cars, but we have to have the biggest performance in the fight against informality and criminalised economy by all relevant actors in order to cover this budgetary vacuum and not citizen health and street safety to be the instrument for achieving budgetary targets”, OEK says.
