Baftiu has said the drug budget is huge over the years but has failed management by the Ministry of Health, and the lack of even more essential drugs in public hospitals.
This is a lack of essential drugs, extensive materials, and it's because there's been mismanagement and budget misuse in the prosecution of essential drugs, I believe you've seen or heard of a research done by Columbus Institute, which I also believe everyone you've seen terrified about what happened to the drug prosecution during 2016-2017. The effects of these abuses are carrying our patients who are forced to buy them from syringes to surgical goats. I have a photo here, taken from one of the departments that says there's no alcohol, there's no ampullate, there's no needles, and there's no cotton”, Baftiu said.
She also cited the Columbus Institute's findings of research saying that the price of drugs has increased from 100 per cent to 200 per cent.
“E where there are over 200 pharmaceutical products that have suffered such an increase... the euro billions are misused by some pharmaceutical companies where less drugs have been bought for the same amount than before...”, she said.
