47 overnight accidents in Kosovo

Kosovo police have reported that during the last 24 hours on the country's territory there have been a total of 47 traffic accidents, of which one has ended with fatal consequences, 15 with injured persons and 31 others with material damage. According to police, to all traffic participants who have violated communications regulations by day, 1272 people have been fined.
According to the Kosovo Police report, compared to last six months, the total number of accidents in the first quarter of this year has dropped by 13.25 percent.
Of the 8.073 traffic accidents that occurred in the January-June 2017 period, 7,003 accidents have occurred this year, meaning 1070 fewer accidents. Compared with June 2017, where 15 accidents occurred, five fatal accidents occurred in June of this year.
Also, increased revenues have been made from traffic fines for the January-June 2018 period, compared to the same period in 2017. Of the estimated 1m and 514 thousand euros, 2 million and 860 thousand euros have been invested this year.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs invites all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo to respect the rules of communications, especially during the summer season when the number of participants in road communication is expected to increase.
By contrast, since last month the Ministry of Internal Affairs has begun with implementing Article 43 of the Automes Law, which requires that the owner of the vehicle cannot make registration or continuing registration of the motor vehicle by motor action, nor the switching of the owner, without making fines for counterpoint in road traffic.
