At least 16 suspects, including active soldiers, have been arrested throughout Turkey for their alleged links to the FETO, the terrorist group after the defeated coup.
According to a announcement by the mayor's office in the eastern province of Bitlis, actions simultaneously began Wednesday in 11 provinces, including Bitola.
Among the 16 suspects arrested are lieutenant colonels and commanders, the report said. The search for another suspect is under way, the Anadolu Agency broadcasts.
The FETO terrorist organisation and its US leader, Fetullah Gulen, orchestrated the failed coup on July 15, 2016, which left 251 martyred persons and about 2,200 injured.
