In Kosovo hospitals, almost everything that enables normal service functioning is missing. There are no bandages, syringes, and many types of drugs. From time to time, there is also a missing part of anesthetics that are basic for operations. As a result, only recent days have the operational plans in several clinics been cancelled, Koha Ditore writes today.
The high degree of drug shortages has also contributed to the fact that Health Minister Uran Ismaili, from September to early March, has not opened tenders for any product. These procrastinations have left hospitals on the same day without 300 products for which MSh has not even opened tenders for contracting before old contracts are used.
The Kosovo Federation of Health Union has given Minister Ismaili three weeks to fix the situation. If this does not happen, they say, health workers will refuse to work under these conditions.
