Do not trust Mogher, EU states seek involvement in dialogue

European Union member states demand that they be included in the final phase of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which would lead to a legally binding agreement on a full normalisation of relations, Radio Free Europe, Serbian-language edition, has taught. As European sources have said, member states have begun to show their concern over the lack of transparency about political dialogue, especially in the chapter dealing with the final agreement.
This was clearly highlighted last Friday at the meeting, where EU foreign policy service representatives openly announced representatives of member states for the dialogue process.
Sources from this meeting have confirmed to the REL, broadcast Koha.net, that member states are not satisfied with the fact that they are completely excluded from this process. As diplomatic sources explain, the team leading the dialogue in Brussels at any moment does not consult member states, even those considered large or more important.
“Dialog is entering a critical phase, while member states are not involved in building the final agreement, which will be historic. We are becoming suspicious why the (EU foreign policy and security representative) Federica Mogher keeps all of this in complete secrecy”, a diplomatic source that has participated in the meeting, has told REL.
He has clarified that Federica Moghrin's team reports about dialogue are generally “superficial and positive marks” with the only confirmation that both sides -- including Pristina and Belgrade -- are committed to reaching a comprehensive agreement, Time.net broadcasts.
One of the steps currently discussed is the idea of this issue being included in the final conclusions at the June Summit, where the heads of state and government of the EU will discuss opportunities in the Western Balkans.
A diplomatic source has confirmed to the REL that it is working in that direction that one of the points in the final conclusions is the request to “include” and EU states in preparing the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
