The two-story apartment in New York owned by the former Yugoslavia will be sold worth $12.1m, while the money from the sale will be shared among the countries of the former Yugoslavia, Serbia's Foreign Affairs Ministry has announced.
The apartment, which has six bedrooms and four bathrooms, has been exploited by Yugoslav ambassadors to the US and has stayed in it and former President Josip Broz Tito during visits to New York.
The apartment, according to Zhurnal.mk, which since 1992 stood empty was purchased in 1975 in many of the $100,000, has paid maintenance expenses to date Serbia so requires 40% of the sale.
