For the Government of Macedonia, the most important thing is that with the Agreement with Greece, dignity, national, cultural and general identity of the Macedonian people are protected.
They are based on provisions of Article 1 of the Agreement, which after receiving green light at yesterday's government session, was made public for the opinion as well.
Article 1, paragraph 3 says “The height of the Second Table (Macedonia) will be Macedonian/state of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, as it will be recorded in all travel documents”. At the same article, at the point c, it is said that the official language of the Second Side (Macedonia) will be “the Macedonian ftt.”, as agreed at the 3rd UN Conference for the standardisation of geographical names, held in Athens in 1977, and as stands in Article 7 paragraph (3) and paragraph (4) from this agreement”.
On the license plate will stand the code NM or NPC, while for all other uses, the country code remains MK or MKD.
The government emphasises that with the Agreement the next steps are confirmed for the realisation of this agreement, which they say positions our country close to NATO and EU membership”.
Article 2, paragraph 4, points b says “after receiving the announcement that the Second Pope's Assembly (Macedonia) has ratified this agreement, the First Side (Greece) immediately: (i) It will announce the Chairman of the European Union Council that it provides support for the start of negotiations on the Second Corinthians' (Macedonia) membership in the European Union under the name and conditions of Article 1 of this Agreement”, Alsat M reports.
Greece is also obliged to inform the NATO secretary-general that it provides support for NATO sending out the country's membership invitation. This is conditional on constitutional changes and the outcome of the referendum.
At the government's session, Prime Minister Zaev stressed that he strongly believes in this agreement because he clearly recognises the specificness of the Macedonian nation. For him, there are strong arguments for the agreement to be protected to its complete realization. /Alsat M/
