MP Lutfi Zharku on behalf of the LDK GP said that just as it is mentioned in the debate request, the Kosovo government has signed several agreements with Albania's Government with the goal of boosting economic co-operation between our countries in various areas.
“These co-operation agreements, among other things, envision the measures both sides must take to reduce and facilitate administrative procedures, which, in turn, are considered serious obstacles to boosting co-operation. Among other things, these agreements include co-operation and mutual assistance in customs matters regarding harmonisation of legislation and standards, establishment of information mechanisms and mutual announcements, exchange of information, harmonisation and simplifying customs procedures, development of the declaration system in customs, and the joint project for building a single building that would serve both customs. Unfortunately, until today little has been done in this respect”, Zaku said.
According to him, and if figures on trade relations between Kosovo and Albania are analysed, the conclusion is no doubt drawn on their nearly annual increase driven by regulated road infrastructure in both countries.
