Hoxhaj: Kadri Wessel even a term at PDK's helm

The deputy head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Enver Hoxhaj, has voiced confidence that Kadri Wessel will be re-elected to a term at the helm of this party.

He has extinguished all speculation that Wessel will have one against the candidate for the party's first.

Although he said the <x0gara is open and that anyone can compete”, Hoxhaj has added that he is not notified of someone else who has the ambition to lead the Democratic Party.

I think the PDK will support Mr. Wessel, Mr. Wessel has a constant interest in working. What we have behind a political culture in the PDK has always been understanding, and I don't know that someone else has the ambition to compete for the position of party chairman, but the race is open anyone can compete”, Hoxhaj told Economy Online.

He has further announced that the PDK chairmanial convention will be held at the end of 2018. Accordingly, these elections will precede elections for the leadership of the PDK youth and those for branch heads.

The first deputy chairman has stressed the interest of young people, especially girls, to join the Democratic Party. “has a strong interest from the new generation to become part of the PDK. It is very good that in many in the branches of youth, a massive turnout is of young women who have taken leadership positions”, he said.

The PDK has for the last time held internal elections in May 2016. In this election, Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veselin was elected to the helm of the Democratic Party.

Wessel has succeeded the former chairman of this party and its founder, Hashim Thaci, who in advance has given up party functions, as he had been elected president of the country since the Kosovo Assembly.
