Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has declared that Kosovo will accept reconciliation with Serbia in exchange for recognition. According to him, this does not mean that the crimes committed will be forgotten. He also talked about membership in INTERPOL.
Haradinaj said reconciliation means by horse over the missing, raped and killed, but explained how this should be done.
- No. What Kosovo can give to reach this agreement, a reconciliation, that there is nothing else we give. It's not a little, it's a little bit of a way over our pain, on the missing, on the killed, on the damage, on sexual abuses, on ruined and robbed economies, and when we agree, we're giving a lot, more than anyone could give me. We're not saying forget, we never do, but we can ever agree on recognition. Is this a year for this? I can't rush to say this, but we've asked our friends for help and I'm telling you that Kosovo, when it's behind America, does it for its own interest”, he said.
He did not say whether reconciliation and recognition will take place this year, but said this is the year when Kosovo should join the International Criminal Police Organisation INTERPOL.
He voiced confidence that there will be countries that will seek Kosovo's membership in this organisation.
Any country that prevents Kosovo from membership in INTERPOL is having to help combat trans-national crime. It's wrong. Anyone who wants to fight transnational crime helps Kosovo join INTERPOL. This year is the time for this work to be decided. I am deeply convinced that all countries have asked for Kosovo's membership in INTERPOL that this is how trans-national crime that is dangerous is fought, he said.
He has asked friendly states to help Kosovo become a member of Interpol.
Haradinaj has also talked about Kosovo's membership in the UN, where, according to him, this issue must soon be closed.
