After meeting with representatives of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said union requirements “will be addressed at the first meeting of the Government”. This news was announced by a communique of the Prime Minister's Office.
“We will not stay in expectation and take concrete action in implementing the demands for workers' rights in the country”, the prime minister has said, according to the communiqué that has distributed the prime minister's office on worker's day on 1 May.
Kaloxo.com has asked the prime minister's office whether the issue of minimum wage growth or issues related to workers in general has been discussed, while she has answered that the question should not be revealed to this office.
This question should be addressed to the Ministry of Labour and Social Management”, the Office for Communication has responded to the Office of the Prime Minister.
After receiving the response from ZKM, call me.com has provided all videos from government meetings for May and has been watching the last of the month's meetings near this office.
On May 8th, at the 45th Government Meeting, Haradinaj and other executive members have not opened for discussion BSPK or Labour Law requirements. They were neither part of the agenda nor were they discussed at the end of the meeting when various issues could be opened.
The same has happened at the 46th meeting, May 11th, at the 47th meeting on May 15th, at the 48th meeting, May 21st, nor at the last meeting on May 29th.
Among the only cases when Haradinaj has talked about workers and trade unions during May has been about Trepca workers, but not workers in general or BSPK.
There are some topics that remain open about, about this station. Where the union representative thought that (state) should also address the union aspects or benefits of workers in the statute... The statue is a document with another character, yet we have asked them to take their opinions (in writing) and we as a government then agree in which way we address the legitimate demands of the miners and not delay moving forward with “Trepsen””, Prime Minister Haradinaj said at the 47th Government Meeting.
Otherwise, the BSPK has participated in the International Workers' Day protest and has submitted several requests to the Government of Kosovo.
The Union of Unions has asked the Government: increasing the minimum wage to 250 euros, wage levelisation (same wages for the same work), implementation of the Labour Law, job security, declining retirement age for 10 years.
