EU member states have called for involvement in the final phase of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
As European sources have learned about Serbian-language Free Europe Radio, European Union states are showing opposition to the lack of transparency regarding political dialogue, especially the final agreement.
This has become known last Friday at a meeting where officials from the EU foreign policy service met. EU states were asked to be orally informed of the dialogue process.
According to these sources, European Union member states are not satisfied that they are excluded in a way from the entire process. As the sources of Free Europe explain, the team leading the dialogue in Brussels never consults with EU member states.
“Dialogue is entering the critical phase and EU states are not participating when a final agreement will be historic. We have expressed doubts why Mogher is keeping this in great secrecy”, an anonymous source said.
The conversationator further explained that Moghrin for dialogue provides only superficial information, confirming that the two states are in favour of a final agreement.
Taking into account this situation and the burden of the final agreement, EU capitals have called for their involvement in a historic agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
One of the steps discussed has also been the idea of this topic being included in the conclusions of the June Summit, where EU governments will discuss the Western Balkans.
The source has confirmed that one of the final points is for the EU to prepare a legally binding agreement between the two countries.
The summit will be held on June 28th and 29th, where major decisions are expected.
If the conclusions include the member states' request to be part of the dialogue, then Moghrin would be obliged to meet that requirement.
