For the 20th time in a row, the “Pristina 201818x1> book fair has opened.
This jubilee has gathered more than 100 publishing houses from Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia and the diaspora today.
Present at the opening ceremony was Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who said the jubilar fair deserves precious orders from the country's government.
“We are determined to support the publication and distribution of the book, and do the lesions on taxes. This fair is very valuable from the country's government. We will support it for those who write it. Write it out”, he said.
Albania's ambassador to Kosovo, Kemal Minxhozi, in his address, stressed that the Book Fair in Kosovo is the most symbolic fair, born from the rifle to bring peace to Kosovo.
Pristina municipality Chairman Shpend Ahmeti said he knows how difficult it is for writers to find financing for publishing their works.
The chairman of the Association of Editors in Kosovo, Daut Demak, said it is to pride in organising the 20th Book Fair in Pristina. He said all Albanian publishers as well as world colosses are participating in the fair.
“This is the biggest cultural event in Kosovo for 20 years in a row”, he said until he also recalled the organisation of the first post-war fair in Kosovo.
Demaku expressed gratitude for the ministry of culture and the Pristina municipality, which he said are the biggest supporters of the book,
