The British state offers nationality to any Jewish person who wants to move freely, reports the Guardian”, the Periscope broadcast.
But recently the global market in citizenship programmes or CIPs as commonly known is flourishing.
Scheme and costs specifications, ranging from $100,000 to 2, 5m euros, can change, but not principle: essentially, rich people invest money in property or businesses, buy government bonds or simply give cash in exchange for citizenship and passport.
The first sold citizenship had occurred in 1984 in St Kitts and Nevis, who had gained independence from Great Britain. This practice gradually begins to intensify worldwide.
For poor countries, such schemes can help, remove them from debt, and even become their greatest export of citizenship. /Periscopi/
