On the third day of Sustainable Development Week, the third conference was held today, on the subject “Kosovo Cleaning: Challenges in the waste sector”, in which a reward was made for the winners of the clean environment race.
In her address to the audience, Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Albena Resiti presented her actions in the field of integrated waste management, based on the creation of a waste management strategy, the creation of the management committee for waste sector, complete the change of administrative instruction for mandate penalties, to have the implementation of this instruction, which envisions fines for all polluting in the country.
“With a goodwill of all of us I assure you that most illegal warehouses will be cleaned up by next year, engaging together with municipalities so that we can have full coverage across the country's territory with services, as well as steadily increase the degree of waste recycling in Kosovo<1> said Resitiy.
The road to Kosovo's cleansing has begun, now we will continue on June 5th on the international environmental day with cleaning activities throughout the Republic of Kosovo, to continue even in the coming months until the cleanup of all illegal warehouses in Kosovo”, it concluded.
