Downplaying the number of “debels” among young people is one of the major goals of the millennium set by the United Nations Organisation by 2030, the Albanian government says in a special analysis to meet these goals.
The percentage of young people aged 15-24 who are not in education, employment or training, also known as “orma NEET”, defines the number of young people who are not in education, employment or training as a percentage in the total youth.
According to UN targets, the percentage of lazy young people should go to zero by 2030 and significantly decrease by 2020.
Last year, an increase in the number of women who don't attend work or school in a 2016 report has been observed. According to data from the Albanian government, 26.8 percent of women aged 18-24 are completely unannounced, while the number of young men“is declining, reaching 24.3 percent in 2017 from about 26.5 percent in 2016.
However, the percentage of young sloths has started falling over the past two years, as the indicator has been much higher in the past. According to Albanian government data referred to I NSTAT in 2014, about 33 percent of the 18-24-year-old youth were not engaged in work or school.
Do not integrate young people into labour markets is a symptom of transition countries where Albania is part of. Western Balkan countries have high levels among young people who are not engaged in labour markets. This phenomenon is disturbing, as these young people are most likely to return to chronic discouraged and remain out of labour markets even after they have spent their youth. /montor
