Pacolli says he has secured support from Islamic countries for Kosovo membership in Interpol

The 45th Minister of the Islamic Countries Conference was a day of intensive work for the Kosovo delegation led by the government's number two and Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli.

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced (MOJ) through a media report, at an International Organisation event, the second in the world for the large number of post-UN countries, over 80 delegations were present, including those with the status of OBI member, as well as others with observer status.

Foreign Minister Pacolli is said to have had the chance to meet Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid.

“Kosovo, through these meetings, kept open the doors of the connoisseur countries, lobbied with these countries for its future membership in Interpol, as well as there were hopeful meetings for new recognition”, the Pacolli Media Office reported.

With Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Taha Siala, Minister Pacolli is said to have discussed bilateral co-operation.

While with Nigeria's Foreign Minister Kala Ankourao, Minister Pacolli is said to have spoken about how the two countries can co-operate in various areas, in the International Organisation, etc. Kosovo's Ambassador to Senegal has been heavily accredited and in Niger.

Other Pacolli meetings have also had with his homolang the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Salah Rabban, spoke of promoting bilateral co-operation throughout the International Organisations, and Kosovo expressed its desire to deepen relations with Afghanistan, remaining supportive of the country's stabilisation efforts.

With Maldive Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammed Hasim, whose country wants seats at the UN Security Council, it was talked about intensifying bilateral relations. With the Maldives, Kosovo has an early relationship.

With Canadian Foreign Minister Kristia Freeland, views on bilateral co-operation were exchanged, and Mr. Pacolli expressed support for Canada's vision, expressed by her, for halting the Rohings tragedy.

Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli also met with Palestine Foreign Minister Riyadh al Malik, who agreed to deepen bilateral co-operation.

Using a conference like this, the chief of Kosovo diplomacy met with both Kazakhstan's foreign ministers, Kairat Abrakhanov and Azerbaijani Elmar Mammadyarov, with whom he spoke about recent developments on the international stage, as well as promoting political, economic and trade co-operation between Kosovo and these countries.

Minister Pacolli met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Carl Barrington Greenridge, whose country was asked for Kosovo's support in the International Organisations and the exchange of bilateral visits.

With Saudi Arabia Foreign Minister Adel Aljubeir, his friend simultaneously, Pacolli had the opportunity to confirm the fine relations between the two countries. He, thanked Saudi Arabia for its long-term support for Kosovo and invited him to visit Pristina. The discussion highlighted the need to work more together in the field of commerce, economy, etc.

A very warm and productive “meeting”, Pacolli, is said to have had even with his counterpart, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Ozdag, with whom the high level of relations and co-operation in various fields was highlighted, among which Kosovo's membership in Interpol.

Pacolli met with his Bangladesh counterpart, Mahmoud Ali, who thanked him for his country's continued cooperation and support.

Another warm meeting, he held, and with his counterpart from Côte d'Ivoire, Marcel Amon Tanoh, who is a good friend of Kosovo and his country supports Kosovo in the international arena. Minister Pacolli invited him to a visit to Kosovo.

Minister Pacolli also met with Senegal Foreign Minister Sidiki Kaba, who supports Kosovo for integration into the International Organisations. The first Kosovo Embassy in Africa opened in Senegal, and the two countries will continue to strengthen bilateral co-operation.
