Police have announced that in today's protest organised by the Democratic Party and other opposition parties, stones and other surrounding means have been thrown down on State Police officials, which, in turn, have been hurt and kept in medical surveillance of 11 effective police people who are at risk of life.
“Even among the collectors was an injured person, who received the necessary medical assistance”, said the Police report.

Today, May 26, 2018, the Democratic Party and its allies organised a rally on the “Community Witnesses” and in the square before the Ministry of Interior.
The arrival of participants in the city of Tirana, their gathering on the “Boulevard, witnesses of the Nation”, and the talk of the occasion usually followed according to forecasts and requirements of organisers.
At the conclusion of the rally, first a group of people, before the prime minister, tried to create incidents with the police, and then a group of protesters tried to break through the chain of special police forces near the Interior Ministry building.
Stones and other circumstantial means have been thrown on State Police officials, and many of them have been hit with solid items. As a result, 11 effective police officers are being injured and kept in medical custody who are at risk for life. Even among the collectors was one injured who received needed medical help.
The heads and employees of the State Police, who engaged in managing and maintaining the gathering, carried out this task with outstanding professionalism and in accordance with the laws and regulations in the Republic of Albania, guaranteeing public order and security and respect for the rights of all citizens.
A special investigative group has been established for investigating cases of violence. This group, under the direction of the Tirana Judicial District Prosecutor, is working to identify episodes of violence, identify responsible persons as well as full documentation of each episode.
State police thank Tirana citizens for understanding and patience, and have testified despite the difficulties they may have faced in the road flow today.
We thank the international police assistance missions for the support provided in drafting and implementing police measures to manage the gathering.
State police also thanked and praised the media, which broadcast with transparency and professionalism the measures taken, engagement and work of state police facilities and employees in gathering management.
State police are committed to providing always, the development of any peaceful rally, guaranteeing, in any case, the security of citizens' lives and public order, in respect of the implementation of the Constitution and the laws of the country.
