Mountain tourism is drawing more and more passionately to it, where it no doubt leads foreign tourists, and Albanian Alps part of the European Alpine arch are today the most important mountain resorts.

Development and promotion of tourist areas is the goal of the Albanian government, which has drafted a master plan to make them easier to access.

Masterplane aims to develop the tourism potential of the entire region and to exploit it in a stable and compatible manner with nature in order to generate long-term economic growth for local residents and not for the national economy.

With their beauty, blending in harmony between the mountains, the Albanian Alps have rightly been named by many foreign tourists among the most beautiful in the world.

But despite the beauty these areas offer, the lack of infrastructure makes them less attractive. And just to make these areas more accessible through this master plan determine the necessary interventions and investments for roads, water supply, schools, health centres, urban infrastructure and public transportation.

Also, it is working on real marketing design and strategies for drafting a varied tourist offer and orientation of business investments to maximize the area's values from a historical and cultural perspective. Meanwhile, the World Bank and the Albanian Development Fund are working together on the new project to connect regional and rural roads.

The World Bank's Board of Executive Directors approved the new project, which will have a $50m financing and envisioning the rehabilitation of 55km of roads aimed at improving access to several agricultural and tourist centres in the country. Part of this project is the Qafe Thore-Theth road segment.
