The leaders of the central institutions in Kosovo have acknowledged that the deportation of six Turkish citizens from Kosovo has five of them employees of the Arsimore Gulistan Institute, the property of Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen, as well as a Turkish doctor in Kosovo, has been wrong.
Five of the persons expelled from Kosovo were school employees “Mehmet Akif” in Kosovo, meanwhile, the sixth person was a Turkish doctor.
For this, the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic League of Kosovo with the support of the Vetevendosje Parliamentary Group and the Group of Independent Deputies have begun procedures for calling the extraordinary session for the case.
The extraordinary session has been called for Tuesday for, reportedly “the violation of the Constitution and Laws of Kosovo over the deportation of Turkish citizens”.
Ilir Deda, Kosovo's opposition MP from the Alternative Parliament, which is part of the coalition with the Democratic League of Kosovo, tells Radio Free Europe, that the extraordinary Assembly session should have a result of the parliamentary investigative Commission being established in the case of six Turkish citizens.
The resolutions of this session should be the reconciliation of all political parties to establish a parliamentary investigative Commission, which institutionally identifies violators of the Constitution and laws of Kosovo”, says Deda.
When, the Social Democrat Initiative requires parliamentary investigation into the issue, as according to this party, “full transparency and responsibility of all the people involved in this action is the minimum of what needs to be done urgently”
Kosovo's top leaders have said Saturday they have ordered comprehensive investigations into all institutions involved in the arrest and deportation operation of six Turkish citizens.
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who has said he has not been aware of the actions of security institutions for the expulsion action, and later has promised that such actions are no longer allowed to be repeated, has demanded investigation by both AKI and other responsible institutions.
I have asked the institutions responsible for developments about the ban, revocation of residence permits and the fast and secret deportation of six Turkish citizens.
While Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has said on Saturday the case is being investigated by competent organs. He has even said he possesses a detailed report by the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI), which says the reason for the deportation of six Turkish citizens concerns illegal acts in Kosovo.
Even the ombudsman, in this case, has decided to open the case of Ex Offizio, to investigate in detail the actions taken by public authorities.
The deportation action of six Turkish citizens, which was undertaken on 28 March, was reported as a joint action of the intelligent services of Turkey and Kosovo.
Following their expulsion, Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj had relieved the post (meaning dismissal) of Interior Minister Flamur Sefaj, and Kosovo Agency for Intelligence Director Driton Gashi.
