Even after the visa regime for Kosovo was lifted, local institutions should not stop fighting corruption, especially when it comes to fighting high-level corruption, Igor Soltes has said of Kosovo in the European Parliament.
Soltes has confirmed Kosovo should not allow corruption to impede the country's progress towards the EU.
“I personally see this as an ongoing process that should not be stopped because the visa-free regime will be given to Kosovo. EU security institutions will continue to keep an eye on this area throughout the EU integration process”, Soltes has said of Indexline.
He has added that the government should invest all its efforts in taking concrete measures to fight corruption at all levels, as this is still a major problem in Kosovo.
Fighting organised crime and corruption is certainly a priority for the EU. Further progress in this area, especially when it comes to fighting high-level corruption, must continue. As this is still a major problem in Kosovo, the government must invest all its efforts in taking concrete measures to fight corruption at all levels. Kosovo should not allow corruption to impede the country's progress towards the EU.
