On April 1, 1999, in Lubenik, Pec, in the early hours of the morning, Serbian paramilitary units in charge of the “Chekeyt” group surrounded and then entered the village's interior.
After gathering the residents in the center of the village, they separated the men from the women and then executed them in the circular ways.
In Lubenik, genocide was committed against the civilian population. Over 80 people have been executed there. Among those slaughtered were young men, women, and children.
There three minors have also been executed -- Muhamet Ukshiaj (18 months), Leonard Alimaj (7 year) and Fatmir Alimeha (17 years old who was physically ill -- all three are still missing.
Also, the pregnant woman Shyhrete Ukhshinaj was murdered and slaughtered there as well.
Lubenik's massacre is considered one of the most secular massacres of Serb invaders in Kosovo.
