Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini has recalled the protests of students on March 11th 1981, saying there have been not only protest of expressions of discontent but have a historic significance that cannot be overlooked.
The March 11th 1981 student proposal was not only symbolic of expressing dissatisfaction with the general social and political state of Kosovo society, but it has a historical significance that cannot be overlooked. It ultimately empowered the reality that Kosovo was not a geographical entity as it wanted to see Yugoslav politics, but a completely political entity whose issue would have to be set for a final solution and that against this fact there was no alternative to conformity”, Veselin wrote.
He has said he has recalled that 37 years later Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state, and we should remember with consideration the 11 March protesters.
“Today, 37 years later, when the Republic of Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state, we must honour and highly remember all those protesters, students and citizens who had such a vision and who could easily and sacrifice seal the uncompetitive future towards freedom and independence of the country”, he has said.
Wessel has said the guarantee of these efforts is the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, who daily strengthen the integrity of freedom.
Currently, the guarantee of these efforts is the youth of the Republic of Kosovo, are its citizens who daily strengthen the integrity of freedom and give meaning to building the democratic state. This vision should be past us further, separately now when we enter the New Decade, the decade of confidence in democratic values, the decade of development and prosperity, the decade of integration into the European family”, has ended Wessel.
