Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has met with US Assistant Secretary of State, Wes Mitchell. They have discussed demarcation with Montenegro, security in Kosovo, the economy, fighting corruption and transforming KSF into the military.
I pledged to you, Mr. Mitchel, that the state of Kosovo is actively and highly responsible for consolidating the state on the domestic and international plains. The US have continued and continue to remain Kosovo strategic partner”, Thaci has said, writes Periscopi.
I thank Mr. Mitchel and the Trump administration for the attention they are paying to Kosovo and the Western Balkans to move faster to the Atlantic perspective. I informed Mr. Mitchell of our commitment to closing the demarcation issue with Montenegro as soon as possible for Kosovo to pass this crucial step for visa liberalisation. I hope the coalition partners are also working with the Serbian List to close the demarcation issue. We discussed further steps the KSF will take to establish the Armed Forces. We also discussed the possibility of continuing the dialogue of the state of Kosovo and the state of Serbia as a full opportunity that would lead to a spirit of reconciliation”, Thaci has said, broadcasts Periscopi.
Meanwhile, Mitchell, has declared that no one will be able to veto Kosovo in terms of security in the country. He's allied on this, about the transformation of KSF into the military.
He has sent a message to vote the demarcation and fight corruption in the country, writes Periscope.
It was very important for me to begin my first trip to Kosovo. We have friendly relations and our administration will continue to deepen this friendship further.
The US is for a multiethnic democratic Kosovo and continues its Euro-Atlantic journey. I've talked about the co-operation of Kosovo and the US in the field of security, economy, and in particular the relationship we have with Kosovo in the fight against I SISCHAit”, writes Periscope.
Kosovo has marked its 10th anniversary as a state and achieved much in building its reliable institutions. The country should also take significant steps this year along its Western route. Kosovo should be very committed to dialogue with Serbia, the importance of demarcation with Montenegro and its importance for visa liberalisation, and stressed to the president, and I will also say here that no one has veto of security in Kosovo. We also talked about fighting corruption for Kosovo's democratic future. The US has been and will continue to be working side by side with Kosovo”, he has said. /Periscope.
