Publicist Veton Surroi has reacted after Erdogan's statements, as he reacted sharply to Ramush Haradinaj, also inviting Kosovo citizens to protest him. Surroi in a Facebook post has said Kosovo should respond to this response, but not this way. He has also listed 5 points on which MPB can react.
The decision to kidnap and hand over six Turkish citizens has already created the expected incident in relations with Turkey. President Erdogan's reaction was emotional, that of Kosovo should not be. However, our country must react to”, Sorroy wrote.
That's his full response:
The decision on kidnapping and handover of six Turkish citizens has already created the expected incident in relations with Turkey. President Erdogan's reaction was emotional, that of Kosovo should not be. However, our country must react
If MPJ wants to do so, by calling the Turkish ambassador to Pristina, here are some points that could be followed:
- Kosovo considers Turkey an important ally, since the days of NATO's freedom intervention, as well as leading to recognition after independence.
- We are concerned with President Erdogan's statement, the more we know about the friendly feeling he has for the consolidation of Kosovo. Words addressed to our prime minister do not reflect traditional sense of friendship
- The government of the Republic of Kosovo has taken measures against its officials for contempt of procedures, laws and standards of the country's Constitution, in case of handing over six Turkish citizens to Turkey's authorities. The government is deeply concerned with possible violations of European conventions, which, as a European state, are part of our judicial regulation.
- Kosovo's prime minister has been elected to regular democratic procedure. His mandate stems from civic votes and he responds to it. Just as we've been declared every time, so even with the unconstitutional effort to overthrow power in Turkey in 2016, there's only one form of the end of the prime minister's mandate, it's with the country's Constitution.
- We hope to continue our communication without this unnecessary emotional burden.
