International woman's day, marked on March 8 is the date known worldwide as the day marked for women's cultural, economic and political achievements. Since some parts of the world celebrate this date, March 8 has been historically followed by protests and marches in search of equal rights for women.
Marches and activities worldwide are held every year to raise their voices against sexual harassment, unfair pay, and oppression of women in many areas of life.
For the first time, Women's Day was discussed on February 28, 1909 in New York at the women's world conference. It was decided that March 8 will become an international day dedicated to the woman. This date was also declared in Russia, where on March 8, 1917, women won the right to vote.
This day enjoys special significance as it is the day when women from around the world are known for their achievements, without any distinction of ethnicity, economic or cultural status.
On the note of this day, even in Kosovo today, a protest march has been called for 12: 00 p.m. by the motto “Women celebrate, march”.
